New Tile House Hakka Cultural District
The New Tile House Hakka Cultural District covers an area of approximately 1.6 hectares. It is centered around Zhongxiao Hall, with the Xihesi Gate Tower as the main entrance. The existing walls surround the drying yards, with some remnant walls in the alleys. To the north, there is an ecological education area with rice fields and the Shiwolang Canal (Shiwolang Ditch) on the northwest side. Different crops are regularly planted according to the season to recreate the experience of the Hakka rural landscape. On the east side, there is a lawn area with an attached wooden stage, providing a place for people to cool off, relax, and use for various purposes. The architectural forms include horizontal houses (mud brick houses), red brick houses, cement houses, wooden structure houses, and glass curtain green buildings. The structures vary from one to two stories in height, presenting a diverse and blended characteristic, reflecting the integration of new and old over the past 250 years in the Julu area.
*
Guangfu New Village
Located in Wufeng District, Guangfu New Village was the first planned new town in the early days. The village boasts Taiwan's first separate drainage and sewage system, holding special significance in Taiwan's urban planning history. The history-rich military dependents' village makes it a popular location for wedding photoshoots, and several movies have been filmed here. In the past, Guangfu New Village served as housing for government employees' dependents. It was the first living space designed with the concept of a "garden city," featuring low population density and a high ratio of green spaces. At its peak, there were over four hundred households. Today, it has transformed into a cultural and creative art village. Various installation artworks and creative shops can be found along the streets and alleys, inviting visitors to explore the traces of time in Guangfu New Village once again.
*
Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is a freshwater lake and hydroelectric reservoir located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the second-largest lake in Taiwan (only surpassed by the Zengwen Reservoir) and the largest reservoir for hydroelectric power generation. Sun Moon Lake has an average elevation of 736 meters above sea level and covers an area of about 8 square kilometers, reaching a maximum depth of 27 meters. The name Sun Moon Lake first appeared in 1821 and was part of the traditional territory of the indigenous Thao people. According to Thao folklore, the lake is a combination of the Sun Lake and Moon Lake. Since the Japanese colonial period, it has been selected multiple times as one of the Eight Wonders of Taiwan. In 2000, Sun Moon Lake was designated as a national scenic area, boasting vast landscapes with picturesque lake and mountain views, making it an internationally renowned attraction.
*
Sun Moon Lake Wenwu Temple
Originally, there were two temples on the shores of Sun Moon Lake, one named Longfeng Temple and the other Yihua Tang. However, due to the construction of a hydroelectric power project by the Japanese, the water level of Sun Moon Lake rose, and both temples had to be relocated. The Taiwan Electric Power Company acquired the assets of the temples, and with the funds obtained, the temples were merged and reconstructed in 1934 at Songbolun on the north shore of Sun Moon Lake. The relocation was completed in 1938. In 1969, Wenwu Temple was rebuilt in the architectural style of the Northern Wei Dynasty in China, with a grand and majestic scale. The temple is divided into three halls: the Water and Clouds Hall on the second floor of the front hall, dedicated to the ancestral gods and Wen Chang Emperor; the Martial Saint Hall in the middle, dedicated to Guan Sheng Emperor and Yue Wu Mu Wang; and the Grand Achievement Hall in the rear, dedicated to Confucius and other revered figures from Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, coexisting harmoniously.

Toushe Basin
Toushe is located south of Sun Moon Lake, nestled between Shuili and Sun Moon Lake. It is only a 10-minute drive from the Xiangshan Visitor Center. The Toushe Basin is primarily known for the Sun Moon Lake Toushe Basin Agri-tourism Area, situated at an elevation of nearly 700 meters above sea level. It is a typical high-mountain basin and the highest-altitude loofah (sponge gourd) production area in the country. This area possesses one of the world's rare peat soils and the only basin-shaped sedge peat area globally. The basin was once a shallow lake. Wearing rain boots, visitors can step into the basin and experience the softness of the peat soil. It behaves like a "dancing soil," remaining firm when stepped on but easily swaying, as if it is alive.
*
Taiwan Geographic Center Monument
The Taiwan Geographic Center Monument is located in Puli Town, Nantou County, at the foothills of the picturesque Hutoushan Mountain. It is a uniquely shaped stone monument. The first steel column you see upon arrival is the old geographic center monument. In the year 1979, the late President Chiang Ching-kuo inscribed the characters "山清水秀" (Beautiful Scenery) on it, earning it the nickname "Shan Qing Shui Xiu" Monument. After re-measurements following the restoration, the actual geographic center was found to be at the summit of Hutoushan Mountain, with an altitude of 555 meters above sea level. A first-order triangulation point was set up there. This point served as the original reference point for land surveys in Taiwan before the modern satellite global geodetic measurement era, and it is also known as "Taiwan's navel."
*
Sun Link Sea
Sun Link Sea Forest Recreation Area, located 17 kilometers from Xitou, covers an area of 40 hectares and is a well-known scenic area in central Taiwan. It is situated at the southeast end of Da'an Village in Zhushan Township, Nantou County, on the upstream plain of the Jiazou Liao River, adjacent to Xitou. With an altitude of 1,600 meters and an annual average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, the park boasts continuous blooming throughout the four seasons. Spring brings cherry blossoms, summer witnesses the blooming of rhododendrons, autumn fills the air with the fragrance of orchids, and winter features the contrasting colors of maple trees. The entire park showcases pristine natural landscapes, renowned for the "Sun Link Sea Ten Scenic Spots," "Ten Forest Trails," "Six Famous Flowers," and its rich ecological landscapes of flora and fauna.

Located in Zhushan, Nantou, the Yoshan Tea Culture House is a renovated old factory building with a focus on environmental protection. It has become the first tourist factory in Taiwan themed around tea culture. The main body of the cultural museum traces back to the mid-19th century when the Chen family of Yoshan Tea began planting and producing oolong tea in Taiwan. Over the following years, they expanded into tea processing, wholesale, and contract manufacturing. In 2008, the Tea Culture House was established to allow international tea enthusiasts to fully experience Taiwan's hospitality and tea culture through Yoshan Tea’s services. The goal is to build upon Yoshan Tea’s legacy as one of the most professional Taiwanese tea brands.
*
Changhua Railway Roundhouse
The Changhua Railway Roundhouse, built in 1922, is affiliated with the Taiwan Railways Administration's Changhua Maintenance Depot. The roundhouse's architecture is centered around a turntable for shunting, with tracks radiating in a semi-circular shape at a 99-degree angle from the roundhouse, forming 12 radial tracks. Presently, maintenance operations for vehicles continue, making it the one of the only six roundhouses still in normal operation, preserving a living history. The roundhouse also houses three steam locomotives (CK101, CK124, and DT668) and a steam crane, as well as electric locomotive E101, diesel-electric locomotive R50, and mobile crane DL1001.

Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum
